På Stoogesboxen The Complete Funhouse Sessions finns det en version av Freak/L.A. Blues som är över 17 minuter lång. Brutal freeformrock med glödande saxofon. Det Fire! (Mats Gustafsson, Johan Berthling och Andreas Werliin) gör på sitt tredje album får mig att tänka på den här typen av urkraft. Tre av låtarna är lååånga, Berthling spelar bas som ett monster, Werliin är enorm på trummor, och Gustafssons saxofoner, elektronik och fender rhodes slingar sig in i Oren Ambarchis gitarr. Det är svårt att urskilja vem som spelar vad. Den sista låten stiger in i en dronetunnel, bra, men det är när Fire! och Ambarchi mosar ihop jazz och rock som musiken lever, bultar, pumpar, gör mig paff.
